Bude Jive Club has been in existence for nearly 15 years now, and is continuing to grow in popularity; we meet at The Parkhouse Centre in Bude on Monday nights 7.30 until 10.00. We do not meet on Bank Holiday Mondays. The club closes in the summer from the end of June until end of September. Please check before travelling if you have any doubts. The interest in our club arises from our combining two dance styles, traditional Rock n’ Roll and Jive.
The Club regularly offers courses of ‘beginners and improvers’ lessons. On a regular basis guest instructors give lessons for the improvers. Rock n’ Rollers who learned to dance in their youth are very welcome at any of the events held by the club. Our next set of beginners lessons will start on 23th September 2019 and the 13th January 2020. If you would like more information or to book please contact Judith on 07815 733185. We look forward to seeing you.
Bude Jive Club has fast gained a reputation as a friendly club and has a very varied social diary supported by Rock n’ Roll club members throughout the southwest.
Dance Style; Bude Jive Club has a unique approach to teaching people to Jive. We aim to preserve the 60’s Traditional Rock ‘n’ Roll Jive style and to the music from the era.
Beginners: We encourage younger members to join the club and in order to keep their interest we build in modern Jive moves in the routines taught. This allows beginners to become more versatile and to develop routines that suit their individual ability.
Taking the Lead: Our Jive is a male lead dance and we encourage dancers to embrace the attitude and enthusiasm for Rock ‘n’ Roll as they did back in the 60’s.
